When you feel a true passion to explore, discover and travel, even through your childhood, what else you can do but to follow your way with opened heart and mind. Well, that was my case, strongly supported by my father – a serious globetrotter and geography and history teacher and my mom – unique creative soul and primary school teacher. I still live in my pretty hometown of Novi Sad in Northern Serbia, proudly titled as European Capital of Culture for 2021. Playing beach volleyball for the National Team for seven years was truly something for me. However, books, music and strong will for education were always around and passion to see the world clearly became my life path.
HAND IN HAND WITH EDUCATION
I graduated Tourism at Department of Geography and Tourism at the University of Novi Sad. I’ve got the highest grade presenting my graduation thesis “Squares of Florence, as major meeting places for tourists”. I plan to reshape it into a genuine e-guide book for Florence. Research and upgrading of my experiences and knowledge was essential and done through international workshops, conferences, cooperation and membership within world’s most recognized institutions like Renaissance Society of America, UN World Tourism Organization, European Tour Operators Association. My Initiative to introduce education through traveling and promote tour guiding to Serbian children resulted with personally created projects and cultural workshops. I am very proud on cooperation with local schools and kindergartens in Novi Sad, which my team and I will continue to develop further in the future.
CAREER THROUGH TRAVELING
Turning point was the new millennium year of 2000., when a newly founded travel agent from my home town announced a need for tour guides to lead student tours throughout Serbia. It was my chance, and my moment to discover what I was born for. Within a year I switched to international guiding focusing on Italy, Spain and France, but that was just a drop in the tour guiding ocean. Tours were spreading all over Europe. Knowledge was growing, while new cultures took me to the levels which I was dreaming about. Possibility to share all mentioned with my passengers is still a kind of an apostolic mission. It shaped my distinctive style of guiding with super powerful, energetic explanations and ability to transfer my travelers through time.
Devotion and work from my heart brought me to the absolute top level in travel industry, enabling me to truly understand different aspects of tourism. Being a local tour guide, international guide for major European destinations, summer season travel agent representative, tour operator general manager and European cultural itineraries manager, provided enormous “in the field” experience .
Unique aspect of excellence was achieved while working as a Tour Guide Educator. I’ve provided professional trainings and necessary study materials for young, talented tour guides, now employed all over the world. After 20 years of my guiding career, I am currently experiencing the peak of it, being a tour director at EF Educational Tours and Go Ahead Tours, one of the leading tour operators in the world. Jonnie World Walker blog is a result of everything I’ve learned and experienced and be sure I am always ready for a step further.

The essence of our Jonnie World Walker concept is to focus on providing travel articles and posts with superb informational value. They are presented in a way that will hopefully cause a strong feeling, a reaction, or even a connection between reader and presented destination. Guiding many top destinations over 100 times in my career, enabled me to achieve authentic knowledge and perspective of all the places you will find described here. Travel passion is combined with personally taken real time and everyday situation photos, which can tell their own story. Every article came up after serious guiding research and experience. They represent incredible source for all travelers willing to step inside a destination, for anyone starting travel industry research project, students or tour guides searching for more. I will not tell you how I traveled the world visiting every single country. But for the countries I explored, I went in depth, searching for true values and unique paths, with a feeling of being a local there, balancing high level of expertise with personal observation and excitement. I hope reading this blog will be just a starting point for traveling more authentic to live more inspired.
TEAM WORK LEADING TO UNIQUE MISSION
My endless lifetime inspiration are my wife Tanja – clinical psychologist, retired beach volleyball player and superb world traveler and our nine years old son Mateja – creative young mind who travelled to more than 50 cities worldwide. Beside me, as an author of majority of articles, two of them are crucial part of my team for this blog adventure. They are the most brilliant travel companions who support and help the idea for sharing our vision of the world with you. Personal transformation, unique spiritual enrichment and opening new frontiers is something only travels can bring to our mind. Jonnie World Walker would like to go even beyond. Our doors will be opened for expertise guest writers from the top level of travel industry. We expect connections with other professions as well, thus providing different views and effects of traveling and chosen destinations. For the first time in travel blogging, one segment of Jonnie World Walker will open space for kids articles on their travel experiences. This should provide powerful insight, and for the first time heard perspective on traveling. Our initiative will cover communities and institutions from all around the globe around creative projects targeting education, responsible travel, multi-culturalism and respect for natural heritage of the world.
