Shipwreck Tower will be the tallest skyscraper in Prague

Probably nobody thinks of any skyscrapers, when fascinating “Golden Prague” is mentioned as a topic.

However, thanks to a few highly creative minds, maybe one project of a skyscraper, on the outskirts of Prague, will reach a status of a modern tourist attraction sooner than you think.

Well known studio Black n’ Arch, brought together renowned architect Tomas Cisar and legendary, controversial sculptor David Cerny, to win a competition for the Top Tower or the Shipwreck Tower in Prague, that should become the tallest skyscraper in Czech Republic.

Prague is obviously ready for the brand new, 135m (442ft) tall skyscraper. Next to it, another highly symbolic, giant Shipwreck tower will be built and will look like it crashes directly into the modern building.

While modern skyscraper will include offices, apartments and underground parking, shipwreck tower will be  unique, multi purpose structure.

Its shape suggests a kind of  apocalyptic symbolism of an old shipwreck, as a remnant of environmental disaster we are responsible for.

Plants wrapped around it will grow, thus symbolizing new life, rising from the ruins.

Shipwreck Tower’s elevators and stairs will bring visitors to different levels, where exposition spaces, gardens, cultural center and observation deck on top, will enable superb experience.

We are so grateful that this precious piece of David Cerny’s imagination, his direct message for attention and encouragement to the mankind, will be revealed to the world in 2024.
